Hello Key Clubbers!

The District Board is ecstatic to announce the Governor's Project for 2017-18.

Home is Where the Heart is

The goal for this project is to address homelessness in our communities.

Every community has their own unique necessities when it comes to addressing and helping homelessness. Your club can participate in this project by finding out what your community needs. Reach out to food banks, warming centers, homeless liaisons, etc. to gain an accurate representation of what you can do to lend a helping hand within your community.

This can be done through raising awareness of homelessness. Even within your high school, there are students who don't have a home and don't know where to go. Spreading the word about resources and places to go can be a very vital way to help.

Food drives, clothing drives, and any other drives for basic necessities can make a huge impact on the well-being of those in this situation.

Step one--Talk to your school's homeless liaison to see what you can do within your school and community.

Step two-- Make your Key Club aware of the severity of the situation

Step three--- Gather your fellow Key Clubbers and go make a difference!!!

Facts on Homelessness:

-Percentage of all people in MT below poverty level: 15.20%
