Briar's Story

Briar was born in 1986. She tells me she was physically and sexually abused for approximately 5 years by her step-father. She used to believe she deserved to be hit and thrown down the stairs by him. She also believes she deserves to get hit when she fails to have sex with her boyfriend.  Briar told me there were 26 complaints filed against her step-father before any action was taken. Then social services filed charges against her step-father but he was found not guilty. As a result of the report of abuse, she is currently a ward of the state and is still suicidal and anorexic.
