Seasons of Service
The March of Dimes is an organization committed to fighting prematurity. Prematurity is the leading cause of infant fatalities in America. The March of Dimes was first created in 1938 by Franklin Delano Roosevelt and it was created to defeat polio. Within 17 years of this organization a vaccine was created that defeated polio and many young innocent lives were saved from this terrible disease. The March of Dimes now focuses on prematurity by supplying life-saving research, innovated programs and dedicated volunteers. There are babies that survive after being premature but they often have lifelong health problems. Prematurity has been rising in alarming rates over the past years and it can happen to any family. Often, we do not even know why this happens, so the March of Dimes has taken on the job of finding out what causes it to happen and how it can be prevented.
There are many things that you can do to help this organization. One idea is to get your school involved and have a Dime War to collect money and donate it to the March of Dimes. You can also walk in the local Walk America to support the March of Dimes. Another big thing that you can do to help this organization is educating your peers. Nothing will be able to be changed if everyone does not have the knowledge. There are a lot of other things to do support this wonderful organization in our Spring Season of Service Project. Be creative!

A word from our Governor...

Hey fellow Key Clubbers! First of all, thank you all who attended our 60th annual Montana District Convention! I know we all had a blast. Many of you already know who I am, and I have had the distinct pleasure of meeting many of you already, and I can do nothing but look forward to this next year and meeting each of you as your governor. Also, if you're reading this, then congratulations on making it to our website! It's a great resource and there is endless knowledge that can be found here. Take a look around, check out the gallery (Pay attention to all the Key Clubbers having a blast at DCON), and soak in all the information you can. I'd like to also take a moment to talk about International Convention. This year it's being held in Denver, CO. Last year's ICON was a total blast, and this year's will not let down. I can easily say that those two weeks of last years convention and tour surpass any other two weeks I've experienced. I encourage every single one of you to at least sign up for info on International, and I encourage you even further to raise money so that you are able to go this year, as the charge is $1,100. I've chosen Project Life as my governor's project, as I feel suicide is a very important issue in this great state of ours and it needs to be addressed. Please check out the project life website (linked to at the top of this page), and try to incorporate it into your club as you see fit.
This year is going to be a great one, that much I'm sure of, and I can't wait to serve each and every one of you to the absolute best of my abilities and more.
Yours In Service,
Christian Jackson
